Armed groups in East Africa are taking advantage of political unrest and economic instability to expand their influence in the region. Recent attacks in Somalia, Kenya, Uganda and the DRC highlight an upward trend of cross-border terrorist activity, increasing the need for international cooperation to stop the threat. In our report we looked at terrorism, military cooperation and refugee waves to present a picture of the security situation in East Africa and the DRC.
